Caregiver Responsibilities

Screening Process
The screening process involves:
- At least one year of caregiving experience
- Valid driver’s license or state identification card
- Verification of Social Security
- A physical exam with medical clearance
- Tuberculosis test or chest X-ray
- Certification in CPR and First Aid
- A pre-employment interview to assess the caregiver’s character and career aspirations
- An interview with an account manager to evaluate the candidate’s caregiving experience and qualifications
- Two professional references related to caregiving
- Skill set evaluation to gauge experience with specific conditions, diseases, and physical limitations
- Nationwide criminal background check
- Completion of caregiver orientation
Bonded and Insured
At In Home Respite & Caregivers, we ensure our caregivers are fully bonded, insured, and protected by Workers’ Compensation Insurance for their safety and yours.
Our comprehensive liability insurance combines several types of coverage, including general and professional liability, safeguarding you against various possible claims.
Agency Caregiver Requirements
At In Home Respite & Caregivers, we carefully screen, interview, and conduct background checks on all our caregivers. Our requirements include CPR and First Aid certification, an annual TB test, and a yearly physical examination.
Parent Conversion Requirements
Parent Conversion caregivers must meet the same credentialing standards as agency caregivers. At In Home Respite & Caregivers, we understand that obtaining credentials can be financially burdensome, so we cover these costs for both the consumer and the caregiver. Our team will also schedule all necessary appointments for credentials according to the caregiver’s availability.
